Cepilho Session

Frequento a praia do Cepilho, em Trindade, Paraty-RJ, desde criança, mesmo antes de pensar em virar surfista. 

Trindade era um pico de difícil acesso, através de uma entrada na Rodovia Rio-Santos, que se chama morro do "Deus me livre". O nome já diz o pico, na época, para piorar, a estrada era de terra e, em dias de chuva, era missão "quase" impossível.

A praia do Cepilho é uma dentre muitas outras, que formam um belíssimo conjunto de praias, dignos de filmes de Hollywood. 

Quando comecei a desbravar os picos próximos de Ubatuba, atrás de ondas, o Cepilho logo virou destino certo e, hoje, depois de muito tempo, consegui ter uma noção das condições favoráveis para o pico funcionar.

Assim como eu, uma galera de Ubatuba estava ligada, e acabamos nos encontrando no pico, fazendo aquela vibe do surf. 

Fiquei triste por ter sido rabeado por um local de Paraty, que eu não conheço. Ele me atrapalhou, eu atrapalhei ele, e isso cortou um pouco a vibe do dia, que foi perfeito, fora isso.

Valeu meus amigos Fabio Leite, Gabriel Adisaka, David Silva, Cleyton Nunes, Wel, Edinho, Fabio Dias, Cleiton Félix, Marco Aurélio, Weslley Dantas, Alaf, Sergião, e toda a galera que dividiu o line up nesse dia abençoado de sol e boas ondas. 

I frequent the Cepilho beach  in Trindade, Paraty-RJ, since childhood, even before thinking of turning a surfer.

Trindade was a peak of difficult access, via an entry in the Rio-Santos highway, called the hill "God forbid." The name says it peak, then to make matters worse, the road was dirt, and rainy days, the mission was "almost" impossible.

The Cepilho beach among many others, forming a beautiful array of beaches, worthy of Hollywood movies.

When I started searching peaks near Ubatuba, looking the waves, the Cepilho beach then turned right destination, and today, after a long time, I managed to get a sense of the conditions favorable to the peak function.

Just like me, a litle crew from Ubatuba was on, and we find ourselves at the peak, making that the surf vibe.

I was sad to have been disrespected by a Paraty local. He disturb me, I disturb him, and cut it a little vibe of the day, which was perfect apart from that.

A barca perfeita - The perfect short trip

Há algumas semanas atrás resolvi, juntamente com a minha mulher, Bruna Pereira, realizar uma "tripzinha" pra um pico que fica bem próximo de casa.

Esse pico rola raramente bom, pois depende de uma combinação de fatores, já que é um beach break, que possui algumas pedras no fundo, em meio a areia grossa. 

O pico é paradisíaco, então mesmo quando não rola onda, o visual vale à pena. Mas dessa vez, deu tudo certo. Mal pude acreditar quando cheguei no pico. Tinha altas ondas!

Foi o tempo de me arrumar e água. A Bruna ficou registrando a session. Encontrei com alguns amigos locais do pico, bem como Sávio Carneiro e Maurício Abud. O crowd era bem pacífico e todos sabiam se posicionar no pico. Tinha bastante onda, então a vibe foi sempre boa, com a galera fazendo a cabeça, nos drops, tubos e manobras.

O mar foi subindo e no final de tarde havia ondas de 6 pés sólidos. A galera foi cansando e fiquei sozinho no mar até quase escurecer. Foi uma sensação muito boa e saí amarradão!! 

Depois do surf fui arrumar uma estadia. Acabei ficando na Pousada de um brother local, que sempre me acolhe por lá, e também é um ótimo surfista, o Léo. 

No outro dia acordamos cedo e partimos pro pico. O mar havia abaixado um pouco, mas a formação havia melhorado, proporcionando boas esquerdas, com bons tubos e pouco crowd novamente.

Nesse dia encontrei o Alexandre Moliterno, que foi com o Pedrinho, locais de Itamambuca que também acertaram na escolha do pico para o surf nesse dia. O Sávio e o Abud também voltaram e garantiram suas ondas. 

Surfei até meus braços doerem, quando um vento maral entrou forte, atrapalhando a formação das ondas e, com a chegada de um crowd no meio do dia era a deixa pra eu finalizar a session.

A few weeks ago I decided, along with my wife, Bruna Pereira, perform a "short trip" to a peak that is near home.

This peak rolls rarely good, because it depends on a combination of factors, since it is a beach break that has some rocks in the background, amidst coarse sand.

The peak is heavenly, so even when not rolling wave, the look is worth it. But this time, everything worked. I could hardly believe it when I arrived at the peak. Had great waves!

It was time to get ready and water. Bruna was recording the session. I met some local friends of the peak and Savio Carneiro and Maurice Abud. The crowd was very peaceful and everyone knew it at the peak position. Had enough wave, then the vibe was always good, with the guys doing the head, in drops, tubes and maneuvers.

The sea was rising and in late afternoon waves were 6 feet solid. The crowd was tired and I was alone at sea until almost dark. It was a great feeling and got stoked!

After surfing I get a stay. I ended up staying at the Pousada brother a place that always welcomes me there, and is also a great surfer, Léo.

The next day we woke up early and headed pro peak. The sea was lowered a bit, but the training had improved, providing good lefts, with good tubes and little crowd again.

That day I found Alexandre Moliterno, who was with Pedrinho, local Itamambuca also correct in choosing the peak for surfing that day. The Savio and Abud also returned and ensured its waves.

Surfed until my arms ached, when a strong wind came onshore, hindering the formation of waves and with the arrival of a crowd in the middle of the day was the cue for me to finish the session.
