O mês de junho marca o final do outono no Sudeste do Brasil e como de praxe, altas ondas rechearam o mês, para a alegria da raça surfística local.

Em um swell de sul, arrisquei os tubos do meio do Félix, que apesar de fecharem bastante, proporcionam um ótimo treino para quem gosta de entubar. 

A sessão foi registrada pela minha mulher, a fotógrafa Bruna Pereira. 

The month of June marks the end of autumn in southeastern Brazil, and as usual, high surf to the delight of local surfers. 

In a south swell, ventured through the tubes of Felix, which although close enough, provide a great workout for those who like to barreled.

Fim de tarde na Vermelha do Norte

A Vermelha do Norte é um pico alucinante! O visual paradisíaco do pico, aliado ao poder de suas ondas, a torna uma das mais procuradas para o surf, em Ubatuba.

Funciona com ondulações do quadrante Sudeste/Leste, e o fundo é de pedra com areia, a maioria das pedras estão encobertas, mas existem alguns pontos onde elas ficam expostas.

Sofre grandes mudanças de condição com a troca da maré, que determinam momentos de tubos e manobras, ondas fechando, ou abrindo, mas sempre vale uma queda nesse pico.

O sincronismo da imagem acima, foi pura coincidência, mas acho que se quiséssemos produzir um momento desses, seria quase impossível... ou pelo menos iria levar um bom tempo para fazer...coisas do surf.

Eu e o meu amigo, o free surfer profissional, Fabio Leite, nos revezamos nas imagens, e ficamos amarradões com o resultado do trabalho.

North Red Beach is an amazing place! The idyllic visual peak, coupled with the power of the waves, makes it one of the most sought for surfing in Ubatuba.

Works with ripples quadrant Southeast / East, and the ground is of stone with sand, most of the stones are hidden, but there are some spots where they are exposed.

Undergoes major changes with the change of condition of the tide, which determine moments of tubes and maneuvers, waves closing, or opening, but always worth a decrease in this peak.

The timing of the picture above, it was pure coincidence, but I think if we were to produce such a moment, it would be nearly impossible ... or at least would take a long time to do things ... the surf.

Me and my friend, professional free surfer, Fabio Leite, took turns in the pictures, and we were stoked with the result of the work.

Cepilho Session

Frequento a praia do Cepilho, em Trindade, Paraty-RJ, desde criança, mesmo antes de pensar em virar surfista. 

Trindade era um pico de difícil acesso, através de uma entrada na Rodovia Rio-Santos, que se chama morro do "Deus me livre". O nome já diz o pico, na época, para piorar, a estrada era de terra e, em dias de chuva, era missão "quase" impossível.

A praia do Cepilho é uma dentre muitas outras, que formam um belíssimo conjunto de praias, dignos de filmes de Hollywood. 

Quando comecei a desbravar os picos próximos de Ubatuba, atrás de ondas, o Cepilho logo virou destino certo e, hoje, depois de muito tempo, consegui ter uma noção das condições favoráveis para o pico funcionar.

Assim como eu, uma galera de Ubatuba estava ligada, e acabamos nos encontrando no pico, fazendo aquela vibe do surf. 

Fiquei triste por ter sido rabeado por um local de Paraty, que eu não conheço. Ele me atrapalhou, eu atrapalhei ele, e isso cortou um pouco a vibe do dia, que foi perfeito, fora isso.

Valeu meus amigos Fabio Leite, Gabriel Adisaka, David Silva, Cleyton Nunes, Wel, Edinho, Fabio Dias, Cleiton Félix, Marco Aurélio, Weslley Dantas, Alaf, Sergião, e toda a galera que dividiu o line up nesse dia abençoado de sol e boas ondas. 

I frequent the Cepilho beach  in Trindade, Paraty-RJ, since childhood, even before thinking of turning a surfer.

Trindade was a peak of difficult access, via an entry in the Rio-Santos highway, called the hill "God forbid." The name says it peak, then to make matters worse, the road was dirt, and rainy days, the mission was "almost" impossible.

The Cepilho beach among many others, forming a beautiful array of beaches, worthy of Hollywood movies.

When I started searching peaks near Ubatuba, looking the waves, the Cepilho beach then turned right destination, and today, after a long time, I managed to get a sense of the conditions favorable to the peak function.

Just like me, a litle crew from Ubatuba was on, and we find ourselves at the peak, making that the surf vibe.

I was sad to have been disrespected by a Paraty local. He disturb me, I disturb him, and cut it a little vibe of the day, which was perfect apart from that.

Thanks my friends Fabio Leite, Gabriel Adisaka, David Silva, Cleyton Nunes, Wel, Edinho, Fabio Dias, Cleiton Felix, Marcus Aurelius, Weslley Dantas, Alaf, Sergião, and all the guys who shared the line up on this blessed day of sun and good waves.

Sózinho no Buraco - Alone in the Hole

Uma história que sempre me inspirou como surfista, foi a do surfista havaiano Fred Hemmings. Fred foi um ótimo surfista dos anos 60 e 70, vencendo eventos importantes, como o Nacional Havaiano e o Mundial, que rolou na Costa Rica, em 1968.

No início dos anos 70, Fred passou a organizar o Smirnoff Pro, que era considerado o campeonato Mundial de Surf. 

Um dia, o mar estava muito grande em Sunset, e eles levaram o evento para Waymea. Todos discutiam, no estacionamento do evento, se era prudente acontecer o evento naquelas condições. Muitos diziam que alguém poderia morrer naquelas ondas. 

Então, Fred, que trabalhava na organização, e como juiz do evento, disse: "Eu vou entrar lá, e se eu conseguir surfar, todos vão pra água". 

Ele entrou no mar, dropou uma bomba e foi cuidar de suas responsabilidades no evento.

Algumas semanas atrás, um consistente swell de Sul atingiu a costa de Ubatuba. Fiz a chamada para o treino do Vida Surfe para o meio do Félix. 

Fui um pouco antes, junto com a minha namorada, Bruna Pereira, que ficou incumbida de registrar a sessão. Cheguei no Félix e tinha 2 metros, fechando, ninguém na água. Caí com a minha 5'11 modelo "Gladiador", da X-Flex Surfboards. 

Encontrei alguns tubos, quase todos fechando, mas foi a oportunidade para treinar em ondas cavadas e pesadas, e a visão de dentro de um tubo desses é mágica e posso acessá-las sempre que quero em minha mente e, claro, nas imagens da Bru!! Obrigado minha princesa! 

Depois, os atletas do Projeto Vida Surfe, Wesley Leite, Philippe Chagas, Tales Araújo e Raul Reis, fizeram um treino muito bom lá, aguçando mais a leitura dos tubos que eles já possuem em seu DNA, pois são talentos do esporte.

A story that always inspired me as a surfer, was the Hawaiian surfer Fred Hemmings. Fred was a great surfer 60s and 70s, winning major events such as the Hawaiian National and World Championship in Costa Rica in 1968.

In the early '70s, Fred started organizing the Smirnoff Pro, which was considered the World Surfing Championship.

One day, the sea was too big at Sunset, they brought to the event Waymea, and all discussed in the parking lot of the event, whether it was prudent to place the event in those conditions. Many said that someone could die in that condition.

So, Fred, who worked in the organization, and as a judge of the event, said: "I will go there, and if I can surf, all competitors go to the outside."

He entered the sea, Dropout was a bomb and take care of their responsibilities in the event.

Some weeks ago, a consistent south swell hit the coast of Ubatuba. I made the call for the training of Life Surf to the middle of Felix.

I was a little earlier, along with my girlfriend, Bruna Pereira, who was responsible for recording the session. Felix came in and had two meters, closing, no one in the water. I fell with my model 5'11 "Gladiator", the X-Flex Surfboards.

I found some tubes, almost closing, but it was the opportunity to train in heavy waves and dug, and the view from inside a tube of these is magic and I can access them whenever you want on my mind and of course, the images of Bru! ! Thank you my princess!

Then the athletes Surfing Life Project, Wesley Leite, Philippe Chagas, Tales and Raul Reis Araújo, did a very good workout there, straining over the tubes that they already have in their DNA, they are sporting talent.

STALEFISH - PEIXE VELHO

O título do texto é a tradução do termo usado como título dessa manobra (foto).


Para quem não sabe, essa manobra é um Stalefish. Nesse dia, Filipe Toledo completou esse Stalefish reverse na base, durante uma bateria no 1ª Etapa USPU Qualifyng, que rolou na ultima quinta-feira, na Vermelhinha. 

Essa manobra consta no livro de manobras da ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals), como uma manobra de alto grau de dificuldade.

Filipinho, recebeu um high score 9,5 pontos nessa onda, porque além dessa manobra, ele havia acertado uma rasgada funcional com muita fluidez e pressão, chegando na junção com muita velocidade para a saída desse movimento radical executado com perfeição.

Não é a toa que Filipe é o atual 9º colocado no Ranking Mundial de Surf. 

Na minha opinião, Filipe é o atual melhor surfista do mundo em ondas até 0,5 metro para à direita. Os únicos que podem dar um pequeno "calorzinho" nele nessa condição de mar é o Gabriel Medina e o Kolohe Andino, mas vão ter que contar com muita sorte para derrotá-lo. 

Quero deixar claro que não estou menosprezando os outros surfistas, mas, estou apenas fazendo uma avaliação técnica do que venho observado no Circuito Mundial de Surf e, essa avaliação só vale se o mar estiver com até 0,5 metro para à direita. 

Quando o mar sobe, o chicote estrala, como pudemos observar em Bells, Jordy Smith mostrou que Filipe vai ter que colocar mais pressão em sua linha pra chegar junto. Filipe é muito novo e, acredito que com mais 2 anos ele já estará com mais peso, com mais força...aí meu amigo, eu quero ver quem vai segurar esse monxtrinho!!rs

Minha previsão: Filipe Toledo Campeão Mundial em 2015!! Duvida?



The title text is a translation of the word used as the title of this maneuver (pictured).

For those unaware, this maneuver is a Stalefish. That day, Filipe Toledo completed this Stalefish reverse perfectly for a heat in the 1st Stage Qualifying USPU, which happened on the last Thursday in Vermelhinha.

This maneuver consists in ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) Book as a maneuver of high difficulty.

Filipinho, received a high score 9.5 points in that wave, because beyond this maneuver, he had hit a  functional turn with great flow and pressure, reaching the wave'end with great speed to the output of this radical movement executed with perfection.

No wonder that Filipe is the current 9th place in the World Ranking of Surf.

In my opinion, Filipe  is currently the world's best surfer on waves up to 0.5 meters to the right. The only ones who can give a little "warmth" in him, when this sea condiction is Gabriel Medina and Kolohe Andino, but will have to rely on luck to win.

I want to make clear that I am not belittling the other surfers, but I'm just making an technique avaliation that I have been seen on the World Tour of Surfing, and this review only applies if the sea is up to 0.5 meters to the right.

When the waves is higher, as we have seen in Bells, Jordy Smith showed that Filipe will have to put more pressure on your line to get along. Filipe is very young, and i believe that with 2 more years he will be more weight with more strength ... then my friend, I want to see who will hold this monxter! haha

My prediction: Filipe Toledo World Champion in 2015! Doubt it?

Voando aos 30

Kelly Slater mostrou para o mundo que não existe limite de idade para a evolução no surf e, aos 41 anos de idade, está elevando o nível do surf competição, em busca do seu 12º Título Mundial.

Eu, que comecei meus primeiros passos no surf aos 14 anos, idade considerada "velho demais" pelo mercado de surf wear, venho me superando à cada dia. Hoje, estou com 30 anos, me sentindo com 15 e, claro, evoluindo no surf. Prova disso são as imagens que venho realizando ultimamente, tanto em fotos, como em vídeos. Meu objetivo não é ser competidor, e quando compito em um evento é para me divertir e, claro, evoluir meu surf, pois como atleta Free Surfer, meu único objetivo é me superar, sem pressão, apenas para poder surfar qualquer condição que eu encontre no mar. 

Para a galera que acompanhou a enquete na minha Fan Page no Facebook, a resposta é: não, eu não voltei nesse vôo, devido a altura que alcancei e, devido ao vento terral, que se tornaram uma combinação de fatores que me deixaram para trás da onda, impossibilitando o retorno. Vou continuar voando, buscando cada vez mais o limite, ou pelo menos o meu...keep riding....keep searching...

Kelly Slater proved to the world that there is no age limit for the evolution in the surf and at 41 years old, is raising the level of surfing competition in search of his 12th World Title.

I started my first steps in the surf at 14 years old considered "too old" for the surf wear market, surpassing come to me every day. Today, I'm 30, I feel 15 and, of course, progressing in the surf. Proof of this are the images I have been doing lately, both in pictures and in videos. My goal is not to be competitive, and when i compete in an event is to have fun and of course my surfing evolve because as an athlete Free Surfer, my only goal is to surpass me, no pressure, just to be able to surf any condition that I find at sea.

For the guys that followed the poll on my Facebook Fan Page, the answer is no, I did not return this flight, due to time and reached due to offshore wind, which became a combination of factors that I left behind the wave, making it impossible to return. I'll keep flying, increasingly seeking the limit, or at least my ... keep riding .... keep searching ...

A Equipe de Produção do Portal Surfcam acompanhou o fenômeno Filipe Toledo, em casa, de férias, antes de embarcar para a Austrália, onde se inicia o WCT 2013.

Férias de atleta não tem moleza, e Filipinho treinou forte, tanto no surf, como no trabalho de Treino Funcional, ministrado pelo especialista Prof. David Prates. 

Na série "Toledo at Home", você irá acompanhar, em alguns episódios, um pouco do dia à dia desse talento do surf brasileiro, em casa, com os amigos, apenas surfando como gosta, sem pressão, no quintal de casa.

O Vídeoclip "Soul Surfer 3" é uma sequência de vídeos que venho fazendo desde o ano de 2010, quando lancei o Soul Surfer. Reunindo imagens do ano de 2012, o "Soul Surfer 3" foi filmado no Litoral Norte de São Paulo, em picos como Maresias, Félix, Vermelha do Centro, entre outras.
Procuro durante o vídeo transmitir um pouco do estilo de vida surf, através de uma diferente perspectiva, sempre com um roteiro underground, mas sem falas, apenas imagens e música.

The videoclip "Soul Surfer 3" is a series of videos I've been doing since the year 2010, when I launched the Soul Surfer. Gathering images of the year 2012, "Soul Surfer 3" was filmed on the North Coast of São Paulo, as peaks in Maresias, Felix, Red Centre, among others.
Looking for the video stream rather than surfing lifestyle through a different perspective, always with a script underground, but no speeches, just pictures and music.

Everton Silva entra na briga pelo Melhor Tubo no Prêmio Greenish 2012

É oficial, estou na disputa pelo Prêmio Greenish 2012 na Categoria Melhor Tubo. Nesta categoria, será premiado o atleta que pegar o melhor tubo em território nacional, entre os dias 1º de janeiro e 31 de dezembro do ano de 2012. O vencedor receberá R$ 10 mil mais a estadia de 11 dias no barco Star Koat I nas ilhas Mentawaii. O cinegrafista ficará com R$ 2 mil e o shaper, com R$ 2 mil. Assim como na categoria Maior Onda, será avaliado o desempenho do surfista, sendo observados o tamanho do tubo, o estilo do surfista, o tempo em que ficou dentro do tubo, a extensão surfada e a finalização da manobra.

Estou muito feliz em participar dessa disputa com esse tubo que surfei na Praia Vermelha do Centro, meu pico de treino diário. Gostaria de agradecer ao meu shaper Fabio X-Flex, ao meu amigo e parceiro Fabio Leite, que fez a imagem e parabenizar a Greenish por investir em nosso estilo de vida!

It's official, I'm in contention for Greenish Award 2012 in category Best Tube. In this category, the athlete will be awarded to catch the best tube in Brasil, between January 1 and December 31 of the year 2012. The winner will receive £ 10,000 over the 11-day stay on the boat Star Koat I Mentawaii islands. The cameraman will get £ 2000 and shaper, with £ 2000. Dia Épico no Tenório - Epic day at Tenorio beach

O ultimo final de semana, dia 24 de Novembro, foi marcado por um "big swell" que atingiu a Costa Paulista surpreendendo à todas as previsões e expectativas.
Eu havia combinado com a molecada da nova geração de Ubatuba para realizar imagens pro "Swell do Mês" do Portal Surfcam e fiquei de entrar em contato com eles logo pela manhã, já que eu iria substituir o Renato Boulos no Boletim das Ondas, pois ele estaria em viagem.
Logo cedo o mar já estava com altas ondas, porém, como na maioria das vezes, as ondas quebravam fora da bancada, com a formação ruim na maioria dos picos.
Analisando, pude concluir que a praia do Tenório tinha as melhores condições e liguei para Tales Araujo e Edher Reis e pedi para que eles avisassem os outros.
Liguei também pro meu amigo e parceiro de surf Fabio Leite, pois assim poderíamos revezar na câmera e eu poderia surfar um pouco, como fazemos no dia à dia.
Chegando na praia, com a troca da maré o mar não parava de melhorar e chegaram para somar na session Geovane Ferreira, Lucas Santin, Yuri Aguiar, Artur Aguiar, Daniel Pinóia e Philippe Chagas.
As ondas quebravam muito em outside, a uns 500 metros pra fora da pedra do Baguari, com cerca de 2 metros e séries maiores (para os mais pessimistas). Quem conhece o pico sabe do que estou falando. A remada para atravessar a arrebentação não estava brincadeira e só foi possível graças a um canal que se forma na costeira do canto esquerdo da praia do Tenório.
Fabio Leite é um dos maiores conhecedores do pico, surfa lá desde criança e mostrou o caminho para a molecada. Fabinho dropava as ondas praticamente na praia Grande e atravessava toda a costeira até a praia do Tenório, surfando até o meio da praia, sumindo nos bottom turns e aparecendo nas rasgadas que desferia até o inside.
Quando chegou a minha vez de surfar, também segui os passos de Fabinho, e esperava só as maiores da série. Eu estava com uma prancha X-Flex 5'11 que era pequena para as condições, mas as ondas eram tão perfeitas que eu consegui entrar no "time" da onda e fazer a cabeça, saindo amarradão da água.
Poderia comparar as condições do mar com as ondas de Sunset, em um dia pequeno de 6 pés e séries maiores.
Foi muito legal ver a molecada da Nova Geração botando pra baixo e atacando as ondas com bastante segurança. The last weekend, November 24th, was marked by a "big swell" that hit São Paulo Coast surprising to all predictions and expectations.
I had arranged with the new generation of kids from Ubatuba to perform images to "Swell of the Month" for Portal Surfcam website and was contacting them in the morning, since I would replace Renato Boulos in the Waves Check, because he would be traveling.
Early sea was already high waves, however, as in most cases, the waves broke off the bench, with the formation bad in most peaks.
Analyzing, I conclude that the beach Tenorio had the best conditions and called Tales Araujo and Edher Reis and they warned to ask others.
I also called my friend and partner pro surfing Fabio Leite, so that we could take turns on the camera and I could surf a little, as we do on day by day.
Arriving at the beach, with the changing of the tide the sea kept improving and adding to the session came Geovane Ferreira, Lucas Santin, Yuri Aguiar, Artur Aguiar, Daniel Pinoia and Philippe Chagas.
The waves broke very outside, about 500 meters out to stone Baguari with about 2 feet and larger series (for the pessimists). Who knows the peak know what I'm talking about. The paddling to cross the surf was not joking and was only possible thanks to a channel that forms in the left corner of the coastal beach Tenorio.
Fabio Leite is one of the greatest connoisseurs of peak surfing there since childhood and showed the way for the kids. Fabinho make's the drop of waves practically on the Long beach and across the entire Great to coastal beach Tenorio, surfing until the middle of the beach, disappearing and appearing in the bottom turns making manouvers that ripped up the inside.
When it was my turn to ride, also copping Fabinho, and hoped only the largest of the series. I was a board  X-Flex 5'11 which was small for the conditions, but the waves were so perfect that I could enter the "time" of the wave and make the head out of the water stoked.
I could compare the sea conditions with Sunset waves, one day short of 6 feet and larger series.
